Sheryl Weston - Director
As the new Director for Opportunity Quest (OQ), Sheryl is very excited to be a part of this year’s competition. She is anxious to see what kinds of projects are ready to take the next step towards success through this innovative program.
Sheryl will graduate from the David Eccles School of Business in May 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration. Before completing her degree, Sheryl has worked in the retail distribution and financial services industries. She has experienced the adventure of working in countries around the world and looks forward to working with an international organization in the future.
She hopes to encourage students from all disciplines at the University of Utah to participate in this year’s competition. She knows that great ideas are out there waiting for the right opportunity and Opportunity Quest is it!
Jaleh Afshar - Assistant Director
Jaleh Afshar is a Junior at the University of Utah. She is earning her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design. As a university student, she has also participated in numerous campus organizations such as ASUU, UPC, The Daily Utah Chronicle, and K-UTE.
Aside from school, she has been spending the previous two years working both as a Senior Designer and Fighting Dinosaur and as a UI Designer at LANDesk.
Her other interests include painting and taking care of her rabbit, named Bunny.
Alex Stillwell - Community Outreach Coordinator
Alex is very excited about working with Opportunity Quest this year. He is currently majoring in Finance and Economics here at the University of Utah.
He is involved in many facets of the U. He has served on the executive board of his fraternity as well as served on the Presenter’s Office and Sustainability boards in ASUU. Alex recently completed an internship in Washington DC working for the US Conference of Mayors, which is an organization promoting federal policy that promotes the urban agenda.
Opportunity Quest is run by current University of Utah students. The team consists of two directors, and several volunteers. Opportunity Quest is no longer accepting applications for the 2008-2009 staff positions.
